Wool hurts!
I am getting like a burn/sore on my left index finger from knitting with the Nuro (re-doing the sophie!). It's the finger that holds the thread. I hold it with the yarn going over my index and under my middle finger, holding it tight in between them. OUCHIES! Anyone else get wool burn? hehe.. oh and I bet I will wind up with a calus on my right index finger from pressing the point of the needle with each stich to pull the stich up and over.

Lighten up on your tension! I run the yarn over/under the whole way down my hand. That's enough tension to keep the yarn where you need it, but not enough to make me wrestle. That should take care of your right index finger too, if the yarn slides through more easily. You're knitting! You shouldn't end up with battle scars! :) Try holding the yarn a bit differently and see how it works. It felt much too loose inititally, but is just right now.

Try switching back and forth between different projects so you get a break from the needles and the yarn. I've always wished I had learned Continental style knitting too so I'd have alternatives. I keep trying to teach myself now, but I get impatient too quickly.

Yeah good idea.. I need to learn the non-continental way! I bet it would help.

I've been on a knitting rampage these past few days, and I've done the same bit to one of my fingers as well. Hmm. Not cool.
