I found my DPN's!!
I lost them last night and I wanted to finish Sophie (i-cord time baby!).
I have no clue if I did the bind-off correctly. I think i did it to tight.. It didn't really tell you what to do after you put the stiches on a marker, so i just used the yarn and kept on knitting which would make the handle kind of bunch-up/stick-out on the sides.
I tried to knit the knitty felted clogs but knitting those first cast on stiches in the round was impossible. I may try again with DPN's. I hate when instructions don't tell you if your supposed to use them at which point. Also the picture apears to be a stockinette st, yet it tells you to knit in ST ST, which in the round would turn out as garter you know.. I don't trust the pattern.. bleh.
I adore Cascade 220 though. I like it even better then Nuro. It's sooooooo easy on the hands. The Mission Falls is a bit rough but I probably knit to tight with cotton.

Trust the pattern. Stst is the abbreviation for stockinette, which is knitting every round if you're working on circulars or knitting the right side and purling the wrong side if you're on straight needles. I think that you're confused because you're used to straights, but the pattern is correct.
As for switching to DPN's - many patterns don't tell you when to do it. I don't know Sophie, but usually you just switch when the work is too small to fit on the circs anymore. It's really just a personal judgment.
Good luck!

Welcome to the joys of Cascade! Isn't it just great?
st st is stockinette stitch. If you're knitting in the round, just knit every row. If it's a flat piece, then knit one row, purl the next. It's just a simple way to tell you to make sure it comes out in stockinette, however you need to do it.
Can't wait to see your finished Sophie. Oh, if you can't find dpn's in the future, just use your circular. Knit the stitches, slide everything over to the other end and keep knitting. I've only got dpn's in sizes to make socks, so it's always circulars for me.

Friend, no it was in the round. Maybe I am not supposed to be in the round yet but it didn't say.

The bag looks great! Love those colors. ;0)
The only thing I did differently on the bind off is that the bound off edge on mine ends at each side and doesn't make a circle like yours does. I'm not convinced that one way is "righter". I wasn't sure how the bind off could be continued across the "missing stitches", so when I got to the handle stitches I knit them and then put them on the holder. So the yarn was in the right place to started binding off again on the other side. I think your method works just as well though.
Good luck with the exciting felting part!! :)
