sunday progress

I made a lot of progress on moonbeam. It's not even 8pm yet! Still to slow for my own wanting, but not so bad I guess. I need 2 more CM's and then I get to start my increases. I don't think I have ever increased before except in class 1 time.. but I didn't really do it, just sorta tried it and I don't remember.. so this will be interesting! I also cast on for the back of Brett's sweater!

Toby and me are watching the Video Music Awards on MTV!

We live in a sick, sick world. Which sin is it to dream of material possesions that give me pleasure when really, why in the world would I ever need this? Well.. I don't need it. But wow what a world we live in. I want this so freakin bad.

slow progress

well I worked on moonbeam more last night, and then today I had an hour long call and because I needed to pay attention I knit instead of working on the computer (which normally results in my not hearing anything on the call because I zone out). Cool thing about knitting is you can really listen to things and comprehend them.

I guess thats why so many people knit and watch tv/movies. I couldnt remember if i had turned the counter on the last row so I am not sure if I just did 3 rows, or two rows. I know for sure I did 2, but I think I did 3.. so well I will hope for the best.. and this next row will be my last decrease before I hit 86 stiches which brings me to the next part in the pattern.

I start a new knitting class next week! It's Beggniner/Advanced and while I know I am ready for advanced (advanced their pretty much means you can handle any knit/purl pattern, read a pattern, work in the round etc..) but my friend whom took a class while I was gone, she and I want to take one together. She has to much crap going on in her life right now to get to into the knitting, but I *think* she really likes it. We will see.. it's a fun thing to do.. I just hope this time the ladies in the class are more open and talkative. I get a snobish vibe in alpahretta and plus I was of course the youngest in class, but now that I am married maybe I will be "in the club" and they will talk to me more!

I leave you with, a fun forum to chat about knittin'

Moonbeam Progress

moonbeam_Aug26.jpg

I made the mistake of decreasing not on the last stiches but on some inside ones. Big mistakes, messes up the ribbing. I am correcting it though and don't think it will be to noticable.

I only like the clover round counters. I got another brand of them that are read/white and blue/white and they don't "snap" into place at each number so they tend to loose their place. I love the clover ones. Clover has a warm place in my heart.

Lettuce Knit in Richmond Virginia

I love what I like to call Traveling Knitting Fever. All knitting bloggers always seek out local stores in their travels... so of course so did I. I should have thought to bring the camera to the store.. wasn't like I was planning a wedding or anything.. hehe

I won money so I spent it on Vera Bradly (bad bad bindy). This was the least "old lady" looking of the designs (bindy ducks as some knittin bloggers go to smack her on the head). Oh but I didn't get it at lettuce, I got it at the Ohio airport, it looks black but its a soft dark chocolate.

Cute accessories!!

Fluffy stuff to make my sister a scarf. I am not sure how much she will like it. She didn't like the black ball I picked out, but I don't think she could envision how it would knit up. Fizz is pretty thick.

Close up.

Mmm oh so soft. For my mother. One in each color. No idea how it will look when done, but its fun and she picked it out!

For me (though my sister now wants it..) and I saw it knit up 20sts wide with fringe and it was awsume!! I think I'll make it, wear it once and then give it to her :)

what kinda knitter are you?

1. Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer high-end/natural fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand? Or is it all the same to you?

I don't know why but I tend to dislike cotton a great deal. I do like a 50% cotton and 50% acrylic. Mostly I seem to love yarn that makes baby cloths. I really want to try wool/cotton blends that are washable. I refuse to make a top that can't be washed. I hate the smell of old wool. I love baby alpaca. I am not big into fru-fru yarns but I do use them to make things for others.

I am a yarn snob I think. Red Heart is gross.. I love SOFT things. Lion brand is okay. Cotton ease is nice if not double-knit.

2. Do you spin? Crochet?

I want to but I have so many, many things to learn (fair isle, cables) that I am not going to allow myself to get into it yet. I do like crocheting. I taught myself without books so I am not terribly good at it as I never got into it.

3. Do you have any allergies? Smoke is gross!

4. How long have you been knitting?
April or May i think??

5. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?
Just read my blog it has lots of things I want in it hehe..

6. What's your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.)
Food smells, vanilla, pumpkin, strawberry.

7. Do you have a sweet tooth?
I am not big into candy.. bad for your teeth. I had one root canal and i don't want to have another!

8. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do?
I love to horseback ride which really isnt do-it-yourself but knitting is my first thing like that.

9. What's your favorite color?
Amythist, pretty blues (I dislike navy) pretty greens and heather grays. I am not into brown or black or anything florecent. I like baby pink but thats the only "baby" color I like.

10. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets?
Married. 1 Dog, 1 Cat.

11. What are your dreams?
To have a cute house on 5 acres and own 2 horses, some sheep to get wool from and for my dog to learn to herd. To run agility trials with my dog and ride my horses for fun. To site outside on a perfeclty landscapped garden (to my liking) with lollypop rose tree's and lovely herbs. To make my own tea's with those herbs, and sit in a chair outside, toby asleep by me.. drinking that tea while knitting and listening to the sheep and horse winey.. ahh.. thats my "dream" world.

The first throw I want to make..

View Wendy's blog entry and photos

AbFab Throw - Project Details

The problem right now is I only see ways to buy the kit, but I just want the pattern because I want to make my own colorway. How in the world can I just buy the pattern?

It's official name is "Ab-Fab Throw Kit by Colinette". So I just wrote an email to Colinette's website so maybe they will respond and let me know..

Wedding Photos..

These photo's are mostly of me because they are just ones my father took and not what the offical photographer took (Havn't gotten those back yet). If I hadn't mentioned it before, my father is a wedding photographer. He's the BEST, and I'm not just saying it cause he's my dad. I was watching him and the other guy the whole night.. I couldn't hear the other guy or tell when he was taking a picture.. anways.. here's lots of me and some of Jesse!

Me and my sister (yes same father and mother!)

My hexagon cake, monogram on top! Very pretty.

Onto the first dance!

The Matron of honor's speech and the best man's speech.

Jesse's dad (center) got us a two-person bike as a gift, and it really is an awsume gift! Now we have to figure out how to get it to georgia!

Dancing with my girls.

Bubbles and rose petals.. what an exit. I felt like i was in some alternate universe.

This was where the ceremony was supposed to take place, just outside the pavillion.

I was tired! Wasn't to worried about the dress at that point..

Lovely romantic photograph..

Bye Bye!

I'm baaaaaaaaaaack..

I was super bridal knitter the weekend of the wedding and knit the two on the left, the one on the right was the orginal first one I knit.

Arn't my cousin's kids cute? The littlest one was the flower girl, the othertwo jr. bridesmaids.

I won about $600 in the casino's! And I spent the last $150 of it on a Vera Bradly cottage bag (zips shut!) with some accessories as a wonderful knit bag. Hey that hot iron holder looks an awful lot like a needle case! :)

The last day in VA (saturday) I took my mom to lettuce knit so I could make some scarfs for her and my sister. Sis requested "hot pink". Also durring the wedding toast my sister told EVCERYONE about my big secrete! That I KNIT! She was bascially saying how I just sorta pic up new things that interest me and do well at them and she said how I made a sweater (omg I only made one half of it!! EKK!). So yeah now I am motivated to finish the baby sweater.. but also i held it up to the baby so I know for sure it wont be to small.

My bridesmaids (minus my sister). Arn't they cute?

Oh yeah did I mention it rained for our whole entire wedding? Luck would have it that i t would up being VERy pretty inside.. everyone complimented how romantic it was and hey, I didnt have to worry about bugs or grass stains! I haggled with a lady the night before to leave on some chair covers and I only spent $35, go me!

But then we left the soggy virginia woods for the Bahamas! The view from our room:

Me and my HUSBAND!

Down in the "dig" underground of the hotel, that's Jesse:

and me.. to the left

So apprently our wedding was durring a hurrican lol.. the only part that annoyed me was my hair at the rehersal dinner.. it was kinda foobar.. but oh well! All of my worst fears did NOT come true, everyone behaved and it was lovely!

We got our hair braided, I'll spare you the picture of me :)

August 04, 2004

I am still here..

Well the wedding stuff starts this sunday.. lots of driving lots of apointments etc.. the actual wedding is not this sunday but the next.. a little over a week! Friday night I will be writting a 5 page paper and then getting my BACHLORS! Life is very busy right now.

I have not been knititng much, except on the fluffy things for the girls. I am half done with the 2nd one.. I better get busy!!

Something I have noticed sence I have not been knitting much.. get this.. knitting is like acne medicine! I have been breaking out again (i dont have bad acne mind you but I do get it) so I realized the 2 months I have been knitting I had very little acne.. it's because my hands where busy knitting all night instead of rubbing at my face. My mom says I "fidget" a lot so I am always itching my head or rubbing at my eyes etc.. so now I am all pissed lol.. so knitting those things the few days before will be good for my hands to focus on !!! So I am taking it slow.. lol..

See you all soon! I HATE not knitting!
